A MODEL OF THE CHURCH The Christian community as God's dwelling place. The builder's plans are to be found in 1 Corinthians. Paul defines the church as a people called by the Father, gathered by the Son, and gifted by the Holy Spirit. We have been called out of the world, set apart for a divine purpose. We have been brought together as a community of God's people. We have been given the Holy Spirit as our source of knowledge, the bond that unites us, and the guiding force in our shared life. At the heart of this calling is the anticipation of Christ's return and the resurrection of the dead. For those who aspire to be servants of God, building His church brick by brick, Paul's message is essential. Stephen is the author of Prophets, Priests and Politics, also published by Austin Macauley, and founder of the Reddit subforum AskAnotherChristian. As a member of the Church of England, he is free from denominational restraints.
