Leonardo DaVinci's talents were endless -- painter, scientist, inventor, architect, musician, and sculptor -- he was a true Renaissance man. Learn about his remarkable life as told through the eyes of his (fictitious) young apprentice, Bartolomeo. Bartolomeo chronicles DaVinci's ascent to greatness. He describes DaVinci's workroom in Florence, Italy where the walls were covered in drawings of the human body, portraits, sketches for inventions, and hand-drawn maps of Italy and Europe. He shares how the master genius struggled with finishing his projects, often upsetting those who paid him for his work. Beautiful chronologically arranged reproductions of many of his paintings and drawings are featured throughout the book. Includes further reading and website recommendations, maps, glossary, and index. Content developed for young readers, grades 1-4 (ages 5-8) and is part of the acclaimed Renaissance Accelerated Reader program.
