Evan Rees isn't surprised when he comes to be nineteen with no friends and no excitement in his life. He isn't even surprised when the world falls apart around him, springing a deadly virus and walking corpses into the state of Florida. No; he's only surprised when there's someone he's seemingly never met before wanting to be with him through it all, forming bonds he'd never imagined were possible. In the state of Florida where the unusual is rendered normal to its inhabitants, a virus is the least of everyone's worries. It's what they expected, to say the least. Random facility explosion, a biohazardous gas wafting in the air of the populated streets, and survival against the widely anticipated zombie apocalypse. But-it was in fact-not what they expected. When Evan, an introvert with the expectations of living through life alone, meets a young scientist, who loves more than he expects to receive in turn, an unspoken and subconscious spark ignites between them. But, as an apocalypse is birthed right before their eyes, they're grouped with a "psychopath"-who's socially unaccepted and molded into what the world expects them to be. They're forced to realize that they're only humans who want one thing in life: Love. But that never comes without its consequences.
