Coles British Battalion XV International Brigade: Memorial Souvenir and Roll of Honour at Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon, BC
*Product information may vary - to confirm product availability, pricing, shipping and return information please contact Coles
Facsimile of the memorial souvenir to the British Battalion XV International Brigade, in the Spanish Civil War, including a Roll of Honour. After the Civil War was eventually won by the Nationalists, the International Brigades were initially on the 'wrong side' of history. However, with WW2 the 'brigadistas' gained prestige as the first guard of democracy, as having foreseen the danger of fascism and gone to fight it. Retrospectively, it was clear that the war in Spain was a precursor of the Second World War. Reproduced complete with programme, song sheet and small colour poster that pledges to fight until fascism has been destroyed.
