At forty, Meg Brewster's life is nothing like she imagined. Ten years after her fiancé vanished without a trace on the Appalachian Trail, she's learned to live with unanswered questions and quiet heartbreak. When her grandmother passes away seven years after her fiancé, and leaves the farm to her, Meg sees a chance to start over—planting roots in the soil of her past and building something new with her own hands and grit.
But not everyone shares her vision. Her older sister insists the farm should be sold and the profits split, reopening old family wounds. As Meg pours her energy into raising chickens, growing organic vegetables, and opening a small farm stand, she begins to rediscover joy—and finds herself drawn to a kind, grounded man of integrity who renews her faith in humanity and makes her believe in love again.
