Very few people in our world actually walk in peace with themselves and God. As the Bible teaches, this is because we not only sin, which hinders our relationship with God, but through our choices we establish patterns or cycles of recurring sin to which we become enslaved. Jesus said, "whoever commits sin is a slave of sin" (John 8:34).
