This story is about how one of the seven in Reign of Eternal Night enters the picture in Arlin, a city in Manitoba that is off the map. It begins with an eighteen-year-old boy who moved out at sixteen, and seems to blend in with the crowds of both younger, and older people. A friend of his named Tom Clemens, an old man he talks to at the video store about life was suddenly beaten to death. Bobby wants revenge against the muggers who killed his friend. Once he gets them back, he feels satisfied for a while. Then he meets a strange girl late at night. She skates around the city on roller-blades, and wears a mask. Although he cannot see her face, he finds himself attracted to her. She accuses him of liking the night, and might be accurate in her opinion. Bobby thought no girl could ever get the best of him again. As he gets infatuated with her, and chases after her around the city, things become more, and more complicated. He wonders if she likes him too, or if she's simply toying with him, and likes playing games.
