The visual contrast encourages babies to explore the different shapes and patterns offered, giving a multi-sensory experience to young explorers. Strong black and white shapes also help babies to develop their ability to focus their attention and levels of concentration. Research has shown that the retina of a newborn baby isn't fully developed and that simple, high contrast, black and white images are a great way to help develop their eyesight. This book is also suitable for children with visual impairments, as the visuals with words from the alphabet help them make the connections between words and imagery clearly.
