Bad grades, first jobs, broken hearts, tough choices-nothing is easy for these birds and horses! On Bird-Horse Island, birds and horses share a town and work together in pairs. As partners, they achieve top performance. Bird-horse doctors offer better treatments, bird-horse detectives find better clues, bird-horse florists make better bouquets, and so on. But teamwork isn't easy. When Horse School's bottom graduate is matched with Bird School's top troublemaker, partnership is tough. They are assigned as gatekeepers to the Forbidden Zone-a lonely post outside of town. Unsupervised and far from home, are these misfits doomed to fail? They can't! There is a dangerous island secret that brings a heavy burden, and the fate of the island hangs on their success. An illustrated novel, packed with friendship and adventure. Ages 10 and up.
