Between Rain, Wind and Sun: Over the Edge at the Ness of Brodgar , Orkney, Scotland, is a collection of sketches and illustrative photographs of the archaeological excavations at this World Heritage site. The sketches, produced during the summer 2019 session, feature oil pastels and earth pigments with identifying notes. All were created plein air, between rain, wind and sun in June 2019. All photos are the actual artworks in the sketchbook of artist-in-residence, Jeanne Bouza Rose.
Jeanne Bouza Rose has pursued drawing, painting, and printmaking for over twenty-five years in the both the United States and in Orkney, Scotland. One of the few artists-in-residence at the world-renowned Ness of Brodgar, Neolithic archeology site each summer, her experiences inspired the Orkney Woodcut. Her work is in private collections worldwide.
