Bertrand the bumblebee has an important job: every day he must buy nectar from nearby flowers in order to feed everyone in the bee hive. But because Bertrand is so afraid of talking to blossoms, he can never bring home enough nectar! With the help of his friend Bella, Bertrand learns that bravery doesn't mean being fearless-it means doing one's best no matter what.
This heartwarming, humorous story addresses themes such as social anxiety and empowers young readers to build self-esteem and confidence through simply doing their best-- all while educating them on the scientific process of pollination. Through Bertrand's adventure, young readers will gain both a lesson in encouragement and an appreciation of the natural world.
