Some doors lead to rooms. Others lead to home.
When Jason Harper rents a room in a quiet Victorian house on Maple Street, he's looking for nothing more than a fresh start.
Instead, he finds something he never expected.
Behind the front door is a house filled with laughter, shared meals, unforgettable conversations, and people who quietly show up for one another every single day. Bryan can turn the simplest moment into an adventure. Tom always has the perfect one-line response. Linda keeps everyone together with kindness and home-cooked meals. Rod is happiest when he's fixing something. Kate understands far more than she says. And then there's Angel—a mischievous golden retriever puppy with a remarkable talent for stealing socks, hearts, and everyone's attention.
As strangers become friends and friendships become family, Jason discovers that home isn't always the place you come from. Sometimes, it's the people who choose to stand beside you.
Warm, funny, and deeply heartfelt, Behind the Door is a celebration of second chances, everyday kindness, and the extraordinary beauty hidden inside ordinary lives.
Sometimes the family you find is the one you were meant to have.
Welcome home.
