A mother, wife, teacher, photographer, grandmother, reporter and poet are some of the background vocations that give some of the poems in Behind Blue Eyes special meaning. From the crying babies to the continual whir of the washing machine, from the divorced woman to the happily married woman, from the piles of homework to grade to the hundreds of photographs to develop, to the absolute joy of being a grandmother to the rough and tumble world of being an outspoken reporter, from a world gone crazy to the solace of poetry, Deborah Herodes has shared her passion, compassion and her dispassion for those who have colored her world. All styles of poetry are housed in a book that will become your table side companion. Herodes is also the author of Between the Lines and Pilgrim Soul.
