*Product information may vary - to confirm product availability, pricing, shipping and return information please contact Coles
Wozzeck, by Alban Berg, has several connections to the composer's personal life in both libretto and through musical quotations. Known for the shocking horror scene & unfamiliar music, Wozzeck Opera goers rarely get a glimpse of the inner workings & life of the Composer. Alban Berg used signatory imagery and music to stamp his life experiences in this 20th Century landmark.
The score of this opera also contains fragments of folk songs. Whether or not these folks songs are authentic or originally composed by Berg, the song fragments are insightful to the composer's interest in society.
