They leave from London by train at 8:45 P.M. on October 2; in order to win the wager, Fogg must return to the club by this hour on December 21, 80 days later. Each leg of the journey Fogg and Passepartout have frustrating, exciting and sometimes dangerous encounters that threaten to prevent them from completing the trip on time.
