Arise my Soul: Forty Days with Charles Wesley shares a way to encounter God in private meditation, yet joining those throughout the world and almost three centuries who have experienced the love of Christ through the words of Charles Wesley (1707-1788), arguably the most famous hymn writer ever.
Each day begins with a stanza from a hymn, followed by a Scripture passage that reflects the hymn.
A meditation on the words of the hymn and the Scripture leads you into deeper communion with God.
After contemplation of all the stanzas for that day, questions follow to prompt thought and discussion.
There are suggestions on how to let the power of the hymn shape your life today.
A brief prayer follows.
