Come read along with the birthday boy as he tells all about his upcoming fiesta! Based on Chicano birthday parties, this book encourages cultural appreciation and pride with its vivid illustrations. There will be music, a taquero, a piñata, a tres leches cake, a lot of family, and a touch of Spanglish in this authentic bilingual story. And if you don't want to eat tacos, vamos a bailar. La musica will be playing in my backyard. Y si no quires comer tacos, vamos a bailar. La música va estar tocando en mi jardín trasero. After reading, you will want to throw your very own fiesta to enjoy some of the wonderful flavors of the Mexican-American culture. (Characters are based off of the Rivera Family of Oxnard, California.)
