Despite various attempts to carry out the murder, the plan is foiled multiple times, leading to a growing sense of tension and dread. Eventually, Arden is killed, and the play follows the aftermath of the crime, where guilt, paranoia, and justice come into play. The play explores the dark motivations behind Alice’s actions, highlighting themes of ambition, infidelity, and moral corruption.
