Anthony Henes: Poems 2008 to 2011 is a handwritten poetry archive from the years when Mark Henes was known by friends and family as Anthony. Written from the end of high school into the early years of college, this collection preserves the original notebook pages as they were created, including the handwriting, edits, dates, numbering, and emotional immediacy of the moment.
These poems move through love, longing, heartbreak, anger, depression, faith, memory, escape, and self discovery. Rather than presenting the work as polished from a distance, this edition keeps the rawness of the original pages intact. It is a portrait of a young writer trying to understand emotions that felt too large to contain, turning confusion, obsession, pain, and hope into language.
Presented as an art facsimile edition, Anthony Henes is both a poetry collection and a personal time capsule. It captures an earlier creative identity, a younger voice, and the private emotional world of a writer becoming himself.
