You are not alone.
Reminiscent of Grimm's Fairy Tales and William Blake's Songs of Experience and Songs of Innocence, m. r. nicholson's Annie Had a Dream Once is a poetic abecedary that honestly addresses societal issues for children-including injustice, violence, and war-as well as happiness and friendship.
A simple book exploring difficult subjects, Annie Had a Dream Once challenges readers to confront the inequities of life. It also reminds them other children have similar experiences of both innocence and tribulations.
Juxtaposing beautiful imagery and poetry about children's lived experiences, m. r. nicholson shows readers that there is always joy and discovery to be found in life, even if there are problems. Difficulties in life happen to all of us, so seek joy wherever you can.
