Do spirits exist? Is spiritual warfare real? Are people really held in bondage by spiritual darkness? Do missionaries change culture? Among the poorest of the poor in West Africa-the marginalized Balanta tribe-Jesus is transforming lives. In his pioneering work, Beryl Forrester, saw this tribe not as a "target of ministry" but rather a people to live among, accept, love and join in their suffering. I want everyone engaged in pioneer (mission) work to read this book.- Steve Shank Beryl Forrester's most important ability, in my estimation, is his open mind that allows him to wiggle into the culture of others. His open heart yearns to see people enjoy full salvation in Jesus within their cultures. What he has learned in the many years as a missionary is astounding. As you read this book you will be impressed, as was I, at the insights that God has given Beryl. He is a pioneer in the classical sense. He goes beyond where others have gone to plant gospel seeds in cultures not his own. The world needs more like him! -Don Jacobs
