'An inspiring 600 km journey by elephant back through the virgin jungles of Thailand. A remarkable triumph and an inspiring read' - Daily mail, England - Ian Balchin has faced many challenges in his life including having progressive Multiple Sclerosis but to travel 600km through Thailand's virgin jungle on the neck of an elephant was his most audacious so far. Ian Balchin is reunited with Maebunta; a thirty seven years old she elephant and her name meant 'Good eye' as well as his Karean crew from four years ago to undertake this life changing challenge. Many who knew of Ian Balchin's planned adventure believed he had lost his mind but then they hadn't reckoned on his resolve and determination. An unusual love affair is the story of their epic journey across some of Thailand's most inhospitable landscape and a memorable, touching account of human courage, resolve and an undieing love of Thailand, its endangered elephant and its unique, genuine people.
