I like myself well
I like me true
but
I would like me
better . . .
French philosopher Gaston Bachelard explored the philosophic and poetic values of water, liquids and fluidity in his book Water and Dreams - An Essay On the Imagination of Matter.
In An Ocean of Purity, Frank Prem interprets Bachelard's explorations of the poetic element water, decanting the vivid imagery contained within the philosopher's work into new and accessible free verse poetic storytelling forms, bringing each story to life.
drop by drop
time must fall
and melancholy
holds its own duration
hour by hour
the river flows
steadfast
