Then one day you meet someone who helps you fulfill the dreams you had while growing up in the institution. A guide and "guardian angel" who teaches you, protects you, and shares his life with you. The dreams made possible included home ownership and all its complexities. Developing an exhibit to teach children about mental disabilities; being honored in the White House, on national TV, and the stage of the Grand Ol Opry. Finally finding a spiritual awakening that had lain dormant throughout Richard's life.
