In looking into the fourth edition of Dr Curric's Medical Reports on the Effects of Water, which came to my hands in summer 1806, I found that I was there charged with arrogating to myself the merit of introducing the practice of affusing cold water on the surface of the body as a remedy for the cure of fever a discovery, which Dr Currie holds to be due to Dr Wright?
