America, Then What? provides a scathing critique of the undesirable aspects of American culture and society, informed in large part by the author's personal experiences abroad and perspective gained, having lived overseas for substantial periods of time. Furthermore, the goal and hope is to awaken Americans up to the forces that seek to keep us divided, thereby rendering the masses ineffectual at challenging the status quo and preventing the necessary uprising to effect positive change in our society.
We the People, especially initial critics who may fancy themselves on opposite sides of the political and ideological spectrum, need to realize the what-should-be universal appeal of the opinions provided and to agree and awaken to the desire to actively participate to effect the societal change our country needs.
About the Author:
Jeff Baker is currently a public sector employee with a local zoning department. His hobbies and interests are intertwined. Consuming political content is one of these, hence the strong beliefs and book. Though no longer active, wrestling was his sport in high school and a bit in college and beyond.
Jeff holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from VA Tech and a Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning from VCU. The American-built environment is a major theme (and dedicated chapter) of the book and huge point of interest and source of fascination and frustration for him. He enjoys foreign languages and studied both Mongolian (for the Peace Corps) and Japanese (where his wife and daughter were born).
