"Some journeys take people on long trips. Some journeys are even lifelong. Is it possible for a journey to get you so lost from yourself that you forget who you are? Is it possible that some journeys take people back to themselves? Is it possible that the greatest journey of all is completely devoid of a place or time or distance?"
Am I still Dreaming Now? is a novel unlike any other. An unnamed protagonist finds himself on a fantastical journey of much needed healing, starting off in the darkest hell that pervades his remaining will to survive. The story is a literary onion. He will bare his soul to you on his journey towards as the layers of pain are uncovered. Following along his path, you will meet characters reminiscent of stories like Alice in Wonderland.
Marching storm clouds, a disappearing cow, a bully of an ant, and much more await your acquaintance.
Your journey will take you through hidden valleys with living creatures that are unique to his world, rivers with true deep meanings, plateaus which are heavenly close, and a brook with a voice.
They will all help our main character question every aspect of life on his way towards being healed. The story brings up questions of whether anything seen can be considered real, or if it takes place in some kind of lucid dream born from the mind of a wounded soul. The surreal events and creatures you will encounter will cause you to question, am I still dreaming now?
While these peculiar events on this journey will forever change how we see the present, they just may save us in the end.
Twenty-seven original poems are intricately intertwined within the body of the journey itself. Artists from around the world have contributed eighteen beautiful and imaginative pieces of art. The story will enchant you in a way that is unique and refreshing! All of which take place while you go on this one-of-a-kind healing journey.
