When Shelby Jones's wedding plans fall through, she decides to move to the suburbs in search of peace and quiet. She buys a hundred-year-old renovated Victorian house, determined to enjoy her life even if it means doing it alone. But to her surprise, there's a mischievous man already living in her new home. And he's not a squatter--he's a ghost, a handsome and spirited ghost.
Simon Moretti was the talented architect who designed the renovations on Shelby's home. He was the kind of man men envied and women wanted to date. And in 1988, at thirty-two years of age, he was ready to make the ultimate commitment--marriage. Simon bought the house hoping to make a home for the family he was ready to start, but on the very day he proposed to his fiancee, his life came to a tragic end.
At first, Shelby thought Simon was merely a dream, but when she realized he wasn't, she vowed to get rid of him. After all, how's she ever going to have a life in her new home with a spirited ghost popping in and out at will?
Shelby decides the best tactic is to help him find his way to the other side of the veil. But Simon is not cooperative since he finds her amusing and refuses to relinquish possession of his home. Plus, there's an added incentive for him to stay--he can actually touch Shelby. Simon hasn't been able to touch anyone since his death, and he's not going to give up that gift now.
