In 1998, the author moved to Iquitos, Peru. Shortly after arriving in this Amazon Rain Forest town, he started a wawawasi (free daycare center for indigenous children.) Next, to help combat teen pregnancy, he began a teenage girls' volleyball team. Hiring the daughter of an ayahauascha shaman as the coach. He also started a house for abandoned indigenous children. The stories you will read in this book are about the indigenous children who live in this house. All of these precious children arrived at the author's house full of fear: Nine year old Keli was raped; Juanita came to the author's house when she was just a year old, and now she is a twenty-two year old student at Iquitos's School of Medicine. A total of nine children have lived in the author's house.
