How do we teach children to name and understand their feelings? All About Feelings: An Alphabet Book for Emerging Readers is more than an ABC book. Created by a certified speech and language pathologist, it introduces children to the language of emotions while building early literacy skills. Unlike traditional alphabet books that emphasize nouns, this unique resource highlights core feeling words from A to Z, each paired with functional sentences and engaging illustrations. The focus on high frequency emotional vocabulary helps children not only recognize feelings but also carry those words into meaningful conversations at home, in school, and in therapy. Ideal for emerging readers, including those who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, this book supports social emotional learning while strengthening communication, literacy, and self-awareness. Topics and themes for parents, educators, and therapists
expanding emotional vocabulary through the alphabet
supporting emerging readers with and without AAC
building skills in communication, literacy, and language
promoting social emotional learning goals in classroom and therapy settings
encouraging children to recognize, express, and manage feelings
increasing carryover from reading activities to real conversations
empowering children of all ages and abilities with tools for connection
This book helps children put words to their emotions, fostering resilience, empathy, and confidence. It is a valuable tool for classrooms, therapy rooms, and families who want to give kids the language to understand themselves and others. Because every feeling matters, and every child deserves the words to express it. Bring All About Feelings: An Alphabet Book for Emerging Readers into your library today and help children grow in both literacy and emotional intelligence.
