Alex Counts the Days is a tender, rhyming picture book about a boy who once loved school-until something changed. A new classroom dynamic left him feeling misunderstood, school no longer felt like a safe or joyful place.
Told through the eyes of a child and the quiet strength of a mother, this story gently explores school anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the hope that things can get better.
With lyrical language and expressive illustrations, it offers comfort to children facing tough days and encouragement to the grown-ups walking beside them.
Perfect for families, educators, and therapists who believe every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe.
