The world was all topsy turvy. Pots and pans and memories were being washed away forever. Alex is home listening to the rain, bored because he can't go outside, when his toy rabbit "falls" out of the window, and he must go after it, even in a flood. Sailing in a watermelon boat, he gets a view of the floods and how they are affecting his neighbors. When he finally finds his rabbit, the reunion is touching and heartfelt. From a creator of several delightfully childlike picture books, this story is a tribute to friendship and community, and the power of the imagination to transform even traumatic events into something rather magical.
