A fantastic fast moving, action packed, misadventure occurs on the Eve of Christmas eve (a most magical time when the worlds of science and magic collide ). Its a quiet sort of day in the countryside, and Pascal, the meddling peddling Pixie, a traveler and notorious thief of note, cannot keep his pixie paws off spellworking artifacts or his temper with magic denying mortals. At the speed of Magic and in a moment of pixie pique he blithely punishes Paloma, a busy career mum, in a very busy city. He sets off a most unfortunate chain of events, with those very worlds of science and magic colliding, culminating in the kidnapping of her rebellious inbetweener son, Kyle by a very ancient and most wicked witch. Kyle and humankind are doomed if she succeeds in venting her vengeful curse. His ingenious teenage sister, Alex and his younger brother, Connor embark on an epic journey through a portal to a place that defies both time and space! They face danger at every turn in order to save him, Christmas and possibly the human race, but they have help in the form of a celestial being called Light. Can they save Kyle before Christmas eve's moon has set? Can they stop the horrid hex and restore balance between light and dark enchantment that the Pixie so carelessly released? Meet merciless monsters, terrible trolls, the exquisite evil Miss. Jacqueline Frost, the daring dwarf, Longnose Silvershanks and rainbow hued Ice dragon, Ron MacNicol, in a kaleidoscope of enchantment and dastardly deeds. Beautifully illustrated, and very different, modern fairytale to enthrall both young and old but can be read to younger children of 6 upwards. To be enjoyed particularly by those between 7 to 16.
