Dive into the vibrant world of "Ajax, For Example," an anthology by W. C. Tuttle that brings together a collection of entertaining Western stories. At the heart of this collection is "Horse Sense," where Professor Ajax Ulysses Green, an academic with a penchant for theories, steps into the rugged world of Plenty Stone Creek. His mission to test a scholarly hypothesis quickly takes an unexpected turn when he encounters the lively antics of Magpie Simpkins and Ike Harper, two cowboys who challenge his bookish ways. As the professor navigates boot duels and eccentric locals, this humorous tale unfolds, blending the sharp wit of Western life with the dry humor of academic pursuits. The story highlights the amusing clash between city intellect and frontier common sense, offering a timeless look at human folly and unexpected friendships. The anthology captures the essence of Western and humorous fiction, with a focus on scientists in unusual settings and memorable characters like Simpkins and Harper. "Ajax, For Example" is perfect for readers seeking a blend of laughter and adventure, set against the backdrop of Western landscapes.
