Focusing on three mid-nineteenth-century spiritual animal magnetizers—Louis-Alphonse Cahagnet, George Bush, and Petrus Jacobus Siemelink—the book explores the recurring problems and shared solutions that have shaped afterlife research over the past two centuries.
