adinkra - farewell Sometimes, saying goodbye to a loved one is not easy. In this and many other situations, words cannot always convey the significance of the occasion. It is in these moments that an image can replace words, and in doing so, become worth more than a thousand words. Welcome to the world of the Adinkra symbols that originated from the Akan people of the Gyaman, a former kingdom in the West African country now known as Cote d'Ivoire. These symbols represent the wisdom and culture of the Akan people who now occupy both Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana. Delve into the rich culture of the Akan with The Adinkra Colouring Book and connect with a tradition that even today continues to bring life to words.
