In celebration of 100 years since the publication of the world's "first religious newspaper," The Herald of Gospel Liberty, a series of uplifting and historical presentations were made in Portsmouth, NH (where the Herald was first published). These addresses covered the life and influence of Elias Smith, the history of The Herald of Gospel Liberty, as well as lessons and encouragement in improving evangelism and church work through "religious journalism." Invaluable to those interested in early Restoration Movement history (and the Christian Connexion in particular) is the bibliography of Elias Smith's writings.
