Adam Goes to the Doctor is a warm and funny children's book for ages 4 to 7 about one boy's first visit to the doctor and how it turned out to be way less scary than he thought.
When Adam hears he has a check-up coming, his tummy does a little flip. What will it be like? Will it hurt? Will it be scary? With his trusty dog Biscuit by his side and his superhero cape on his back, Adam heads to the clinic ready to be brave.
Inside, he meets Nurse Sara and the kind Dr. Patel, who show him everything that happens at a check-up, from measuring his height to listening to his heart go thump, thump, thump. Along the way, Adam learns that doctors are not something to be afraid of. They are helpers. And helpers are pretty great.
Perfect for children who feel nervous before medical visits, Adam Goes to the Doctor uses gentle humour and simple language to make the doctor's office feel familiar, safe, and even a little fun. Includes a note for parents and caregivers on supporting children through medical anxiety.
