Excerpt from Actuarial Science: An Elementary Manual This little handbook is the outcome of a course of lectures delivered by the author during the winter of 1891-92, under the auspices of the Institute of Accountants and Actuaries in Glasgow. It is intended as an elementary treatise on Actuarial Science, and is published in the hope that it may, in part at least, supply a want which has frequently been expressed. The existing Text Books are all that could be desired for the professional Actuary, but they are much too advanced for those who make the subject only a side branch of study. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
