The Acts of the Council of Constantinople, convened in 1351, address the theological conflict between the Orthodox Church and heretical teachings primarily represented by Barlaam and Akindynos. The council, led by Emperor John Kantakouzenos and other ecclesiastical leaders, firmly condemned the dualistic and heretical interpretations of God's nature, emphasizing the importance of the Trinity and the uncreated essence of God. The proceedings highlight the necessity of defending piety and truth against false doctrines, reaffirming the Church's teachings through synodal decrees and the testimonies of the holy Fathers. The council sought to unify the Church against internal strife and external threats.
