Accountability is your ability to accept responsibility for your actions and in-actions and the obligation to report, explain, and be answerable for any adverse consequences. It’s the 22nd volume in a forty-book series of a comprehensive Success Training Program (see OTHER BOOKS). Accountability is often confused with responsibility. They’re related but different. It means taking ownership and responsibility for your actions, decisions, and their consequences. Accountability doesn’t mean being perfect. It means owning your choices and adapting when needed. Most people don't understand that, yes, responsibility and accountability go together; they're part of the same iceberg. However, you can't see the accountability part of the iceberg because it lies hidden beneath the surface until you run into it - until something goes wrong. Accountability is normally not a problem - until something goes wrong.
