Two lifelong friends in their mid-twenties escape to Narbonne for a week of adventure. For Jen Barclay, the trip is a birthday gift from her close friend Lisa, and a chance to relax and explore.
Their holiday takes a drastic turn when Lisa vanishes. Alone in a foreign city, Jen struggles with the language barrier and an uneasy feeling that there is something she doesn't know about Lisa.
As days pass, fragments of truth emerge through diary entries, messages and unsettling discoveries. Determined not to give up, Jen pushes on with the help of local police, and strangers whose motives remain uncertain.
A tense, emotionally charged thriller, Ann MacKinnon's A WEEK IN MAY is a novel about friendship and long-kept secrets.
