As the traditional fairground, or Midway, disappears from the American landscape, this volume of gritty and surreal images becomes a document of its declining history; full of beautiful images that convey the real atmosphere of these 'disappearing' spaces, capturing the spirit and essence of the 'thrill' of the lights at night, Ferris wheels and sideshow stalls that feel like the most magical of childhood dreams, full of the promise of excitement and escape.
