A Walk In The Park: Forty-five years of secrets. A legendary stolen engine. And a three-year-old who can shriek loud enough to break glass. What started as a simple Saturday stroll for the Maplewood Junior Detective Crew quickly turns into a high-stakes scavenger hunt through the woods. When ten-year-old Lilly discovers a piece of precision-machined metal, she unknowingly reopens a cold case that drove two brilliant inventors apart decades ago. Led by their "Papa" (their Grandfather and a retired engineering genius) and "Mimi" (their Grandmother and the family's tactical backbone), the crew—including a math wizard, a fearless daredevil, and two protective German Shepherds—must navigate a park filled with mechanical snares, mud pits, and cryptic codes. But as they close in on the long-lost "Heart of the Zephyr," they realize they are being hunted by a ghost from the past: the eccentric and dangerous Mr. Z. In this heartwarming and hilarious adventure, the Maplewood Crew must prove that brilliance is a family trait—and that no grudge is too old to be settled over a slice of apple pie (and a well-placed whoopee cushion). Perfect for fans of: The Goonies and The Mysterious Benedict Society. Stories about grandparent-grandchild bonds. STEM-themed mysteries featuring codes, math, and mechanics. Lighthearted family adventures with German Shepherd heroes.
