In this detailed "how-to" book of wooden toy projects, the home craftsman will find full-color illustrated chapters with instructions for building and operating functional toys. Adult supervision is emphasized to initially explain to a child the care and use of each unique hand-built toy. They represent the happy domain between intricate scale models and functional, near-scale toys. Each will also appeal to adults who will be fascinated to see them in motion, some with moving parts linked to the wheels. They are designed for imaginative and constructive play, rather than watching an electrically-powered automaton do its own thing. It is hoped that these toys will last a child's lifetime, and be handed down through generations. Each project will make a handsome display in a child's room, and will reflect the skill and effort of the builder.
