Dr. Joe Burke, a native Newfoundlander, enjoys a good story and delights in telling stories about his fun loving countrymen. Someone has to keep the humor mills running in Canada, he says, or we will all die of melancholy. There is a little chance of that when you read, A Treasury of Newfoundland Humor and Wit. Dr. Burke has provided for us a rare collection of the most humorous anecdotes and wit attributed to the fun loving people of the happy province. To add to your enjoyment, L B Jenson has contributed immeasurably in providing illustrations that depict Newfoundland's scenic beauty and way of life. To all the mainlanders who read this book we hope that you will get a good impression of what it's like back'ome.
