Join the Youngs as they adapt to life in the south, experience the battles of Camden, Kings Mountain, Gilford Courthouse, and many more. Suffer the betrayal of their beloved General Benedict Arnold, and expand their family in the 6th year of the Revolutionary War!
"It's 1780 and the war in the north has ground to a halt. Captain Davis and I are preparing to travel south with my family to join the fight against Lord Cornwallis. General Gates has been dispatched by General Washington with an army of four thousand men to retake Georgia and the Carolinas, and if he is successful, bring the war to its end.
"It will be a clash of titans; General Cornwallis has never been defeated, and General Gates was the victor over the British Northern Army under Burgoyne at Saratoga. Only God knows who will prove to be the better. The Continental soldiers jest as though they are confident of victory, but it does little to mask their true apprehension.
"My own stomach churns with nerves as our wagon rolls amongst the baggage train into new lands brimming with creatures and plants we've never beheld. A brand new world of intrigue, that apart from the war, I fear I would never know. Only the Good Lord knows what challenges and adventures lay ahead for all of us.
"Even as I write under Theo's curious gaze, I'm excited for the words I will pen in the coming months. My life is never dull so long as he and Tobias are around, their rivalry would make any girl blush. His latest attack involves hiding his owl pellets in Tobias's shoes, which is hilariously savage, though Tobias doesn't seem to think so."
