From the author of the Killer Nashville Best Mystery Finalist Not Today and Book Excellence Finalist The Neighborhood comes a chilling new case in the Dora Ellison Mystery Series.
A young man with disabilities. A voice like an angel. A bullet on stage.
Julian Lockhart was the star of the night—a gifted singer and beloved member of a performance troupe for young adults with special needs. But just as he nears the final note of his solo, a single gunshot rings out. Blood. Chaos. Silence. Julian collapses in front of a horrified audience.
Who would kill a young man so full of promise and innocence?
Private investigator Dora Ellison and her partner Missy Winters are called in to uncover the truth behind the shocking murder. But the deeper they dig, the darker the secrets become. Could it be a resentful activist? A jealous father? A betrayed school founder? Or someone hiding in plain sight with a vendetta no one saw coming?
As Dora navigates a web of motives and lies, she confronts the worst kind of killer—one who hides behind virtue and preys on the vulnerable.
A Special Storm is a gripping crime thriller that blends emotional depth with high-stakes suspense. Fans of Lee Child, Harlan Coben, and Karin Slaughter will be hooked by Dora's unflinching pursuit of justice—and her uniquely personal brand of vengeance.
