Detective Adam Somers decides to take matters in his own hands to convince the town to move on from their decade old hatred for Cecily Armstrong. Cecily is called upon to judge at the local baking competition but when a single mouthful of a decadently tempting cake reveals a hideous plot for murder, everyone is thrust into the suspect pool. In a mystery that shakes the very foundations of her own life, Cecily is swept down a complicated path of forgotten memories, forced confrontations and the shared longing for peace and forgiveness. As Adam and Cecily work hard to find answers in a maze of disjointed and puzzling clues, a sudden change of perspective speeds up the process of uncovering the truth and the final hunt for justice begins.
