A Sketch of the 126th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers is a historical account of one of the Civil War's lesser-known regiments. Written by David Watson Rowe, a member of the regiment himself, the book provides a detailed overview of the unit's formation, training, and wartime experiences. The 126th Regiment was composed of volunteers from various counties in Pennsylvania and was mustered into service in August of 1862. The book describes the regiment's participation in several major battles, including Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and the Wilderness Campaign. It also details the daily life of the soldiers, including their rations, equipment, and medical care. Additionally, the book includes biographical sketches of many of the regiment's officers and enlisted men, providing a more personal perspective on the war. Overall, A Sketch of the 126th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the Civil War or the experiences of the soldiers who fought in it.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
